they do not have active noise cancleling they do block out background noise and speech from other people, i can not hear my wife snore. they blocked out the sound of the weed wacker very well. they are very confortable you know they are there but they are light and easy wearing I have been using these headphones for a couple weeks now and they are great good bass and mids and high come through. I was hoping to use these while cutting the grass but my tracktor mower is much to loud but they did cut it down a little.
Not a super big sound but a very bright, clear one. Ideal for laptop/ipod use and especially suited for classical music, jazz, acoustic. Easy to wear, which is a big plus on long rides or an afternoon of sitting on the patio listening to music. I've been through a lot of headphones in my life and these are the best I've found at this price (or twice and three times the price, for that matter). Has the sparkling sound clarity you expect from Sennheiser.
I recommend these to anyone looking for an inexpensive set of headphones that sound good. The sound is crisp and the bass response is decent. I bought these to use with a small portable radio. These headphones make the radio sound even better.
Cons- Eventually the pads will sweat, moderate pressure makes them uncomfortable for long use.One thing I found out, if I wear these for a few hours, my ears will really hurt. I purchased these headphones to help me focus in a noisy office environment. If you've got an enourmous head, you will likely need a bigger pair of headphones. By repositioning the back of the pad on my ear lobe, and the front of the pad just in front of my ear, this issue has been solved. Since my budget was very low, I went with these headphones and am very glad I did. Pros- Very Inexpensive, Descent Sound, Long cord with smart cord management.
And they aren't very comfortable either. I don't recommend these and should have done more research. I bought these on the basis of the reviews, the price and the need to cut down on sound in a mildly noisy workspace. I'd say that there is about a 10 percent reduction in noise, even with music playing; much less than I expected.
